Annual Vacation

How much annual vacation time am I entitled to?

Upon working one year you are entitled to two weeks annual paid vacation. After six consecutive years of service with the same employer, the employee is entitled to three weeks annual paid vacation.

How much vacation pay am I entitled to?

After completing one year of employment, the employee is entitled to vacation pay equivalent to 4% of annual earnings. After six consecutive years of service with the same employer, the employee is entitled to vacation pay equivalent to 6% of annual earnings.

When am I entitled to my vacation time?

You are entitled to vacation every year, within ten months of the completion of the year.

The Director of Employment Standards may approve an application by the employer and the employee to waive the right to vacation time or to postpone the employee’s vacation.

When should I receive my vacation pay?

You should receive your vacation pay within 14 days before vacation begins, or where this is impracticable, on a payday during or after the vacation according to established practice.
